Prior to enrollment, a written offer of an internship position from the employer, confirmed by Lee Norton, the English Internship Coordinator, to be of appropriate scope and relevance to the English Major.
Bi-weekly informal reflections (300-500 words each), posted to the blog on this site, chronicling the development of the internship, including what you're learning, any challenges you're facing, and how it helps you imagine other jobs, vocations, or careers.
Semester project: an essay OR a portfolio of work with a prefatory essay, including in either case at least two sources related to the field. Your project essay should illustrate what you learned from the internship and reflect on the field you've been working in. The scope and genre of the project will be negotiated with Professor Norton by in-person or zoom conference. You will post your project to this site on the due date.
Before the end of QC finals week, a written statement from the employer confirming that the terms of the internship are completed is necessary to receive a passing semester grade. (You may request that your employer send this letter directly to Professor Norton.)
